YEA Days

Miami Waterkeeper Youth Environmental Action (YEA) Days provides students with land-based activities filled with hands-on education in which students learn about our natural wonders, threats and how we can protect our South Florida ecosystems. The unique experience includes water quality testing, conservation and marine science games and activities, learning about and spotting sources of potential pollution, and conducting a community science marine debris clean-up, which contributes to global marine debris research and earns students community service hours.

We host YEA Days throughout the year, depending on what school and community groups are interested in and their availability. The recommended age group for this program is fifth grade and up. This program can be tailored to each grade and can focus on different topics depending on specific needs and interests. Students will not be swimming during this program so lifeguards and swimming gear are not necessary. YEA Days typically run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and include time for lunch.
