Rebecca Sharpe
Rebecca, Miami Waterkeeper's Chief Technology and Chief Marketing Officer, is dedicated to identifying digital pathways that inform and engage communities related to sustainable climate solutions.

Rebecca joined the Miami Waterkeeper team as its first Chief Digital and Technology Officer in 2023 and took on the dual role of Chief Marketing Officer in 2024. In her role she blends her passion for human-centered digital experiences and emerging technologies with the global effort to enhance climate resiliency and biodiversity conservation. 

Across South Florida and beyond, Rebecca’s focus is on developing digital pathways that provide information and raise awareness about rising sea levels and aquatic impacts so that residents are able to engage in public and private efforts to protect their future.   

Previously, Rebecca oversaw data, analytics, technology, marketing, and digital product development initiatives for global household brands across various sectors, including media, tourism, finance, consumer goods, telecommunications, and government worldwide. Her achievements encompass: 1) Pioneering media data automation for a prominent global brand; 2) Guiding the creation of business intelligence and ML/AI recommender systems at one of the world's largest media conglomerates; and 3) Effecting enterprise digital transformation for a [government] economic development board in Australia.

An Australian native who has spent most of her life within walking distance to an ocean or river, Rebecca has always had a connection to the earth and a deep interest in sociology. She holds an Master of Business Administration (MBA, majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications) and a Master of Research (Quantitative and Qualitative), both from the Queensland University of Technology. Active within industry, Rebecca is an invited member of Chief.com, and participates within the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) community as a speaker, moderator, awards judge, and mentor. She has had her work featured in print, press, blogs and podcasts.
